The rules

You will rarely win on the price of frames. You can win the exam.

An eye exam is local, booked and personal, and it is where most patient relationships start. OHIP covers routine exams for people 19 and under and 65 and over, so parents and seniors want that answer fast. Optometrists advertise under Ontario Regulation 119/94.

What the regulation rules out.

  • No testimonials, so no review widgets on your website.
  • No comparative or superlative statements, such as "the best eye care in London".
  • No endorsements, unless from someone with approved expertise.
  • No suggestion of specialist status unless Council has approved it.
  • Everything factual and objectively verifiable.

What we do

What we do for optometry practices.

  1. Google profile

Eye exams, contact lens fittings and eyewear listed as separate services, with hours, photos and a booking link kept current.

  2. Exam pages

Comprehensive exams, children's exams and contact lenses, with OHIP coverage explained plainly.

  3. Booking and tracking

Online booking from your listing where your system supports it, and a monthly count of booked exams by source.

We take on a small number of optometry practices at a time. Most fit Local Visibility at $1,500 a month. Practices that want Google Ads for eye exams move to Practice Growth. Full pricing.

Questions

Questions.

Can we ask patients for Google reviews?

Patients can review you on Google, and you can reply with care for their privacy. The regulation rules out testimonials in your own advertising, so reviews stay off your website and social accounts. Check with the College of Optometrists of Ontario before running any review program.

Can we advertise eyewear prices and offers?

You can state factual prices. Avoid comparative claims such as "lowest prices in London", which the regulation does not allow.

Do you run Google Ads for optometrists?

Yes, on Practice Growth, usually for eye exams and contact lens fittings, with every booking tracked back to the campaign.

We are inside a shopping centre. Does that change anything?

Mostly how patients find your door. We make sure your listing, directions and photos show exactly where you are inside the centre.
